Description: Beautifully hand-quilted with applique and embroidery details. Unique and intricate floral depictions fill 20 baskets. Border is cornflower blue. - This Basket pattern, as well as the blue/white combination, was a popular pattern during the 1930 - 1940 period. The maker could use her fancy to fill in the basket contents as is evidenced in the unique and intricate floral depictions that fill 20 baskets. The appliqued basket handles are probably indicative that she did not do a lot of appliqué but was good at piecing. - The quilt has been washed, but is in excellent/stable condition.

Log Cabin Barn Raising

Log Cabin Barn Raising
Quilter: Phyllis Schrag
Size: 42 x 53 inches (Baby, Crib, Child, or Wall Size)
Description: The fabric used in making this quilt was hand-dyed in pink and purple going through several dilutions. The dainty Log Cabin blocks form the Barn Raising pattern and provide gentle contrast from light to medium intensity. The hand quilting is exquisite and follows an outline of each fabric strip which forms the separate blocks. The borders feature the cable quilt design and meets perfectly in the corners.
