Description: This beautiful quilt gets your attention immediately when you enter the room. It's a bold combination of reds, orange, and gold with a gentle touch of blue, purples and green to make it easy on the eyes. I collected fat quarters over a period of time until I thought I had the right combination of colors. Blocks are separated by black sashing. Some of the leaves, vegetables and fruit are individually outlined to make them stand out. I'm sure someone will really enjoy it in their home or office.
Will add a hanging pocket upon request of buyer, after sale is final. - Geraldine entered Fall Harvest in the large, 2015 Geary County Fair. Her entry was placed in the Open Class - quilts pieced and quilted by one person (with 52 quilts entered). The judges comments for Fall Harvest: "Beautiful fun, striking colors separated by black. Applique Hearts

Applique Hearts
Quilter: Phyllis Schrag
Size: 75 x 83 inches (Double/Full Size)
Description: This beautiful, hand-appliqued and hand-quilted quilt started as a Sshoe-Box quilt - one I took along in the car or to the waiting room. It has been to several States and went along with me to Europe. It was great for the long flight. The hearts were carefully traced and cut out from freezer paper, then hand-basted. After that step, each heart was carefully and delicately appliqued to the yellow cotton blocks. The hearts are made of 1930’s fabrics which measure 36-inches wide. The delicate blue sashing and green cornerstones help make the quilt unique and colorful. Please notice the hearts quilted into the sashings and cornerstones. The hand quilting is of high quality in its consistency and size of stitches.
Designed in a smoke-free, pet-free studio. This is a one-of-a-kind quilt. - At the time of purchase, I will enclose a gift card with an envelope detailing how to document, preserve, and care for your quilt. The back of the card features a quilt blessing printed inside a scroll. There is a place at the top of the scroll on which you can write the name of the receiver if you intend it as a gift.
Technique: Hand Appliqued. Hand Quilted.
Fabrics: 100% Cotton
Batting: Polyester
Care: The poly batting makes this quilt completely washable. Machine wash in cool temperatures with a mild detergent. Tumble dry or block on towels to air dry. Avoid harsh sunlight, as it may cause fading.

Outer Galaxy

Outer Galaxy
Quilter: Phyllis Schrag
Size: 64 x 80 inches (Double/Full or Wall Size)
Description: In a creative frenzy, I decided to make this quilt in a very non-traditional way. I used Kona Cotton solids in muted pinks, and blue strips. The stark white fabric appears to be coming out of the frame and the unusual entwining effect of the center diamond gives a positively outer galaxy feel. To aid that effect, the black fabric used features gold stars. Even the final shape of this quilt has broken the usual rectangular shapes. Please note the photos, especially the one featuring the bottom section of the quilt, and you will see how one corner juts out. That was an intentional effort to give a modern feel to this quilt. This is truly a one-of-a-kind quilt.
Created in a smoke-free, pet-free studio. - At the time of purchase, I will enclose a gift card with an envelope detailing how to document, preserve, and care for your quilt. The back of the card features a quilt blessing printed inside a scroll. - There is a place at the top of the scroll on which you can write the name of the receiver if you intend it as a gift.
Technique: Machine Pieced. Hand Quilted. A sewn-in rod pocket at both the top and bottom reverse side is included, so that it can hang completely straight in an art gallery or on a wall.
Fabrics: 100% Kona Cotton
Batting: Polyester
Care: Machine wash in cold temperatures with a mild detergent. Tumble dry, or block on towels to air dry. Avoid harsh sunlight as it may cause fading.
