Colleen Froats
I started sewing in 4-H when I was 8 years old and became an avid quilter 40 years later. I am a long-arm quilter, designer and fabric dyer. I laughingly tell people that I am too undisciplined to follow someone else's pattern.
My home is smoke-free and perfume/scent free. I do, however, have a cat. When I finish a quilt it is laundered then bagged to protect it from our pet.

Backyard Gathering
Size: 66 x 78 inches (Twin Size)
Description: Hand Appliquéd Felted Wool on black double-sided Benartex cotton flannel. I began hand appliquéing the blocks for this quilt during breaks at work in October 2006 and finished the quilt in July 2008. This quilt won a First Place ribbon and a Viewer's Choice award at the Emmet County fair. My co-workers loved watching this quilt take shape. They even cut back on their smoking breaks to come inside and see how I was doing. The patterns were designed as a Block of the Month by Lisa Bongean from Backyard quilts/Primative Gatherings in Menasha, Wisconsin. I purchased the patterns then chose, dyed and felted my own wools to complete the project. There is a 4" hanging sleeve on the back of this quilt.

As described in The Quilt Pattern Magazine (TQPM): "Okay, I Wasn't Thinking" by Linda Anthony is the happy result of not reading another pattern very closely.
