Helen Hubert
Mom taught me to sew when I was just a child, but it wasnít until 1994 that I started quilting. The allure of playing with fabric, colour and design quickly became a compulsion. In 1999 I bought my first quilting machine, and the following year I started machine quilting for hire. As I progressed in my knowledge, teaching classes in patchwork became a way for me to reach out to others with similar interests. During those years I was making many quilts as samples for the classes, and those represent the majority of the quilts I am offering for sale here at Quilts for Sale. However, I still enjoy learning new techniques and playing with colour, so there are always more quilts on the design wall. Over the years I have been graced with many awards from various quilting competitions and continue to expand my knowledge through local quilt guilds, classes, books, conferences, and participation in professional quilting organizations. I am so blessed to do this for both a living and a hobby. I hope that one of my creations will give you an emotional warmth you would never get from a mass-produced product.

Bow Tie
Size: 68 x 83 inches (Twin Size)
Description: The blues and yellows set against white give this quilt a real beach feeling. The technique to make three-dimensional Bow Tie blocks was learned at a quilt guild meeting and turned out to be so much fun I just kept going. I chose a wide selection of fabrics in blue, yellow, and a few greens to create the soft look. Perfect for the guest room, the cottage, or the stateroom on your boat! Contact me now and have your summer quilt ready for hot days and cool nights.
Summer-weight batting of bamboo and cotton. Bamboo is naturally anti-bacterial and is a renewable resource, making it a more environmentally-friendly product.
Technique: Three-dimensional Bow Tie blocks are machine-pieced and set into a narrow dark blue border, then surrounded by a pale blue floral border. This has been beautifully machine-quilted with a feather design offset with cross-hatching.

Bunny Hill
Size: 63 x 79 inches (Lap/Throw or Twin Size)
Description: This is a super cute quilt made from applique blocks depicting seasonal themes. One of my quilt guilds used this as a group project, with one lucky contributor winning the twelve blocks. As you can see, the winner was me! I added the surrounding blocks of white and brown which create the star design, and the plain creamy-beige squares to increase the size to something more usable. This would be a perfect addition to your little girlís bed, or as a special quilt for your guest room. The neutral colour scheme will fit in anywhere. Click the email link to contact me now!
The blocks feature little surprises like buttons, bows and sparkly bits. Beautifully machine-quilted with a feathers and curls theme, and basket motifs in the cream squares.
Technique: Machine Pieced. Machine Appliqued. Machine Quilted. Some Hand Embellishment.

Buttons & Bows
Size: 60 x 84 inches (Lap/Throw Size)
Description: This quilt was made with a group of quilting friends, all of us who are trying to reduce our 'stash' of fabrics. I chose warm-coloured fabrics (red, pink, yellow, orange, brown, beige) in an assortment of prints to make a super-cozy quilt. The back of the quilt continues the feeling with red and yellow fabrics. The name "Buttons & Bows" was chosen because of the super-cute button fabric used for the outer border. This quilt will absolutely banish the flu or the blahs!

Jelly Roll Straights
Size: 73 x 90 inches (Oversize Twin or Full/Double Size)
Description: When a new quilt shop opens in town itís important to support them! Several yards later I had plans for this lovely quilt that turned into a class sample. This made excellent use of the collection of 2-1/2 inch strips that are so popular today. The sample has done its job and the class has been retired. Now these warm earth tones can be a beautiful addition to YOUR room. Fabrics are a pale muted yellow border with botanical motifs and a cranberry-brown sashing outlining the blocks; multiple earth-toned fabrics are found in the blocks. Click the email link to contact me now!
The back of the quilt is a perfect colour match to the front and has made interesting use of fabric bits that were left over after piecing the quilt top. Beautifully machine-quilted with a freehand feathers & curls theme, and double crosshatching on the outer border.
Technique: Machine Pieced. Machine Quilted.

Margarine on Toast
Size: 65 x 79 inches (Twin Size)
Description: This is a lovely quilt made from a combination of vintage Dresden Plates and current quilting fabrics. The Dresden Plates were made by a local woman back in the 1960s, and given to me by her daughter. The yellow background and the blue sashing fabrics are new quilting cottons purchased to reflect the era of the plates. If you have a vintage-inspired room that takes you back to those simpler times this would be the PERFECT quilt to complete the decor.
This quilt has already been washed once to remove excess dye and chemicals from the fabric manufacturing process.
Technique: Dresden Plates were hand-appliqued to the background fabric. All other stitching is by machine. Beautifully machine quilted with yellow and blue threads, creating additional interest on the quilt back.
