Barbara Buck
Barbara Buck
I have always loved to sew but only started quilting about 12 years ago. Believe me when I say that I found my "passion". I have made quilts for holidays and special occasions such as weddings, graduations, housewarmings and birthdays. I always use 100% cotton quilt-shop quality fabric for the front and back and carefully construct my quilts to endure many years of "love". My husband and I retired to a small rural town in Eastern Oregon (pop. 670) where the winters are long and cold and there is not much to do. We live 100 miles from everywhere so this affords me lots of free time to pursue my passion for quilting. We have a precious German Shorthaired Pointer named Abby, but neither she nor my husband is allowed in my smoke-free studio.

The quilt, Adopt A Puppy, arrived today and I am over the moon about it!!! It is gorgeous!!!! My husband was upstairs watching football and came running when I screamed with delight!!! All I know to say is that you are one talented quilter and God has blessed you with a talent and I feel blessed to have this quilt for my precious granddaughter!! Thank you so much and I truly believe I was led to your quilts by a power greater than us. My only problem is I hope I can keep it a secret until Christmas!! I am so excited! I LOVE it and you are now a member of my family whether you want to be or not! Haha. Thank you again. - With my best regards, J. K, North Carolina.

" The ponies were galloping! The mail arrived right as I was leaving for work yesterday! Opened the box last night when I got home. That quilt (A Frog's Story) is so awesome!!! Barb, your talent is amazing. I can't wait to give it to Lincoln. I have the cutest little stuffed frog to go with it. - Janice Stevenson

The 5 quilts . . . you made - Americana, A Passion for Purple, Briar Patch, Everglade, and Milky Way came today. They are all amazing. You are so talented . . . beautiful. I really like them.I want you to know how much I appreciate you, your professionalism .and your quilts. I so enjoy purchasing these beautiful keepsakes. I am blessed to be able to share with so many as gifts, not only with family and friends . . .but that person the comes my way in this life that needs that warm sense of home, the old days, the old ways and a touch of kindness. Something they can wrap themselves up in for the hug when they need one. Love comes to us in many forms even in the form of quilt, be it new or old . . . just knowing a pair of hands filled with true kindness took the time to create "love in color", to be shared today ,yesterday and for generations to come. Thank you again. Our Lord's Blessings, Mrs. Lyon, Arizona

Oh my goodness!!! I have goose bumps after having just opened the Balloon Ride Teddy Bear quilt. The picture did it no justice. It is precious!! The quilting is far above what I hoped for, and I KNOW it will be loved, used, and I hope passed on to the next generation of Drurys. I will tell everyone I know about your beautiful quilts. Thank you so very much. I will send a picture of the twins with the quilt very soon. - Lynn Drury, Maryland

I purchased Border Blast from Barbara and love it. The quilt is beautiful and well-made. Barbara was a pleasure to deal with and the transaction was very easy. - D. H., Virginia

Morning Sunshine
Size: 101 x 101 inches. (Queen or King Size)
Description: I prefer to hang my quilts for pictures but the weather would not cooperate so this quilt is shown on a queen-size bed. It would also work well on a king size bed. I have made several quilts by this designer and have never been disappointed. The old-fashioned charm of the design and the use of reds and turquoise brought back fond memories of my Grandma's kitchen which was done in the same colors. Back then the dining table was in the kitchen and she had an oil cloth table cover that resembled the floral print in this quilt. I always loved the red metal canister set that was displayed on her counter. I always use double-fold French binding for durability. It is machine-stitched to the front and hand sewn to the back. The back of the quilt is a white tone-on-tone and I quilted an all-over feathered flower design.
I will gladly, at no cost, hand sew a personalized, computer-generated label to the back of any of my quilts.
Technique: Machine Pieced. Longarm Quilted.
Fabrics: 100% Cotton
Batting: 100% Premium Quality Cotton
Care: For the first wash, machine wash in cold water with 1/2 cup of white vinegar to set the colors. Subsequent laundering should be done in cold water with a mild detergent. Tumble dry on low or hang to dry. Complete care recommendations will be included with purchase.

New World Star
Size: 99 x 99 Queen Size
Description: I loved this pattern but it was designed to fit a full-size bed. Once again I ordered extra fabric so I could enlarge it to fit a queen. My brain must have had a hiccup because I ordered too much fabric. I used the extra to make a smaller version which I have listed as Small New World Star. The back is a tan with a coordinating small floral print. I quilted it with an all-over feather design. I always use double-fold French binding for durability. It is machine-stitched to the front and hand-sewn to the back.

Off Kilter
Size: 90 x 99 inches (Queen or King Size)

Oh My Batik Stars

Oh My Batik Stars
Size: 94 x 103 (Queen or King Size)
Description: I love batiks and once again my obsession with buying fat quarters left me wondering how I could possibly use the various colors in a quilt. The traditional Orion Star block seemed like a good choice, but I began to wonder about it as I was piecing the stars. When I put it all together and added borders I was really quite pleased with the finished product. I used a tone-on-tone purple backing and quilted it with a variegated thread which really added to the dimension of the quilt. I carefully construct my quilts to be durable and only use quality quilt shop cotton.

Oopsie Daisy

Designer: Darlene Zimmerman
For sale with permission of designer/publisher.
http://www.feedsacklady.com

Oopsie Daisy
Size: 98 x 98 inches (Queen or King Size)
Description: Darlene Zimmerman's quilts always appeal to me; probably because she incorporates lots of 1930's reproduction fabrics in her designs. When I found this pattern I knew I had to make it; but I have never hand appliqued. I used Eleanor Burns' method of applique which is to turn the pieces using a featherweight fusible interfacing, which works well to keep the pieces stable when hand appliqueing but creates some bulk. It took me 2 years to finish this quilt; there are 475 flower petals, 50 leaves, 75 stems, 50 flower centers, 520 triangles and way too many 2 1/4 inch squares. After I finished it, I stared at it for months trying to decide how to quilt it. I am old school and feel that quilts should be used and not stored so it had to be washable. My dry cleaning days ended when I retired and if I can't wash it I don't own it. So, to the horror of the quilters in this area, I quilted an all over pattern through the appliques. I have been told that by doing so I have devalued the quilt but that's fine with me because I don't want you to look at the quilt, I want you to use it. The back is a white tone-on-tone and I quilted an all-over feather design.
I will gladly, at no charge, hand sew a personalized, computer-generated label to the back of any of my quilts.

Pinwheel Party

Pinwheel Party
Size: 95 x 95 inches (King or Generous Queen Size))
Description: This bright and cheerful quilt will surely bring a smile to your face even on the dreariest day. My "sister quilter" and I purchased the fabric at a quilt shop in Washington and decided to make Pinwheel blocks set on point. Pinwheels invoke pleasant memories of the carefree days of childhood and the flowered fabric complements the many pinwheel colors. I like a scrappy look so I pieced the borders with some of the colors from the pinwheels and bound the quilt with the same mottled green fabric that is in the sashing blocks. The backing is a white tone-on-tone. I quilted an all-over flower and butterfly design.
I will gladly, at no additional cost, hand sew a computer-generated, personalized label to the back of any of my quilts.

I wanted to thank you for the quilt, Moose At Summer Camp. The grandkids came to visit, and had a sleepover and they argued about nana’s new quilt. They were good about sharing. I loved the quilt. I’m a county person. I love the outdoors and what nature has to bring. I will be purchasing more quilts in the future. Thanks, again. - Corinne Robare, Utah

The Bundle of Jungle-Boy quilt arrived right as I was getting ready to leave for work. Of course I couldn't wait until evening to open it! I was speechless. It is so precious!!!!. You are so right that the online pics don't do it justice. I had a hard time tearing myself away from just staring at it. I don't know how I am going to wait for three weeks until the baby showers to give it. The label you suggested is so perfect. Your talent is unbelievable. I told a couple of friends from work about it and they insisted I bring it to work to show them. Will be doing that next week for sure. I thank you again for presenting me with a lifetime keepsake for my first grandchild. - Jan S., Georgia

The quilt, Luna Blooms, arrived Monday. It's gorgeous. It's perfect and I absolutely love it! And you're right, pictures don't quite do it justice. I'm still tickled that I stumbled upon this quilt site and found the picture. You did an amazing job making it and I'm delighted as can be to own it. Every time I look at my new quilt I smile!Thank you so much for making such a wonderful quilt! - Sandi M., Oregon

I received the quilts Forest Retreat, 3's Company, and Log Cabin Hidden Stars, yesterday and love them!!! The fabrics are wonderful, colors are gorgeous and the quilting is exquisite. They look perfect in my craftsman home. I truly love them and appreciate the time and thought you put into them and will probably be purchasing more of your fabulous quilts. - Kim M., Kansas

Got the quilt, Big Sky Country, today!! It's beautiful! Thank you very much! - Vicki, Illinois

Barbara, the two custom little boy Puppy Love Quilts arrived today along with Scrap Happy Quilt. First off, I want to thank you for making the Puppy Love quilts for my two grandsons. I know you took the time out of your busy quilting schedule for the holidays to just get these done for me in time for Christmas. I cannot thank you enough. They are perfect for the boys to grow up with and use daily. - I must also mention the Scrap Happy quilt, it is AMAZING ! I can't believe how big it is, the fair price, quality of material and how wonderful the quilting compliments the pattern, it is beautiful. You are such a lovely lady to do business with a for sure a gifted quilte . . . not to mention I have enjoyed receiving your emails that are always so pleasant coupled with your "salt of the earth personality and sense of humor". - Please do expect my continued returning business in the near future. They will be used, shown and loved. You are a wonderful lady . . . and a talented quilter. Thank you again so much. - Our Lord's Blessings - Kindly, - Mrs. Lyon, Arizona
