#910 - Midge Kincaid

Needlework has been part of Midge’s life since childhood. She has been quilting for 25 years and has received a dozen awards for her work during that time. Now retired, she enjoys making and designing quilts as well as putting her personal touch to commercial patterns. She is a published quilt designer with “The Quilt Pattern Magazine,” and has written one article for them. One of her quilts was published in “Kool Kaleidoscopes”, a quilt book by quilt designer, Ricky Tims.

Midge accepts commissions for small and large quilts.

Reviews:
I fell in love with Midge Kincaid’s Woodland Winter quilt a long time ago. Although I am trying to save money for my custom quilt, I wanted something small, not too expensive, Christmassy, but yet not just limited to the Christmas season. The Woodland Winter quilt is SO stunning—-the colors of red, silver and white are so vibrant, and the theme depicted is just a perfect rendition of all that winter and wildlife/woodlands bring (I happen to love the outdoors a lot). And the price was affordable. The quilt is so utterly beautiful that I plan to leave it out all year round, not just during winter and Christmas. It’s just WAY too stunning to put away! Midge is a very sweet, fun person, with some real strength as well, and I know that I will be checking her site all the time for these beautiful gems she makes. I love that Midge has such a FINE eye for design and classical/vintage looks—I tend to like old fashioned quilts and also, like the Woodland Winter quilt, ones that sort of tell a story or share a time of year with images worked into the design. Midge is great at that!!! – Elizabeth Deese Ivany, California

Thank you so much for putting me in touch with Midge Kincaid. I have received her quilted throw Autumn Leaves and am just thrilled with it! Midge did a wonderful job working with Cheryl Mycroft’s design. Midge was a joy to work with. She & I had a great discussion about the quilt which will be presented to me by my employer as a retirement gift on Feb. 18th. I look forward to living with it for many years to come and can only report the whole transaction easy & trouble free. – Cullen Morton, Victoria BC, Canada

I purchased Blue Feathered Star from Midge Kincaid. I had been looking for a quilt and finally came across the Quilts for Sale website, where I saw a picture of Blue Feathered Star. I was struck by the beauty of the quilt, and the superb way Midge combined colors and fabrics to create a striking quilt, yet a quilt that is visually appealing (because the colors are blended so well). I purchased the quilt, and I was delighted to see that the quilt is just as beautiful in person. And, I was delighted to find out that Midge is a lovely person, who puts a lot of love into her quilts, as well as skill. I’ve commissioned her to create another quilt for me, and I can’t wait until it arrives! I was nervous to order a quilt online too, so I’m happy to help others. Your website inspired confidence though, so I took the plunge! – Susan K., Bethlehem, PA.
